Guide and advice for renting your apartment or house for a movie shoot

Are you a lover of the arts and are you interested in renting out your home for photography or film shoots?   When renting out your apartment or house for a photo or film shoot, the types of properties that production companies are interested in include residential locations such as houses, apartments, castles, villas, lofts, and more.   Easy Spaces, as a location rental agency and photographic producer and executive film producer with Easy Production since 2004, we may also consider unique locations like private homes, hangars, factories, offices, boutiques, sometimes even boats & vintage vehicles.   For your house or apartment to be appealing for filming, some common criteria include proximity to Paris,or a major city with a TGV station or airport nearby (less than 45 minutes),  a large area with at least one room of 40m² or more, good natural light for camera shots, and easy parking nearby for film equipment and crew.   A space that can accommodate a mobile canteen for the film crew is important, especially if you are hosting a film crew such as for a feature film.   Additionally, you should be the owner or co-owner of the property if you want to rent your space. if you are a tenant, you need to ask permission from the owner, and from the co-ownership if there is one.   Regarding pricing, the rental rates depend on the type of property, and many other things.    For a feature film, here are some realistic estimates: - Large house in the Paris region: between 800€ and 2500€ per day - Large apartment (+100 m²) in central Paris: between 800€ and 2000€ per day - Villa with a pool and sea view in the south of France: between 1000€ and 2500€ per day - House in the provinces: between 700€ and 1500€ per day   The rate is slightly lower for photographic shots. It also depends on the type of project, as there is more budget for advertising than for an editorial for a fashion magazine. For longer shoots, there may be one or more days of location scouting and preparation before filming begins. A day of preparation is generally paid at half the rate negotiated for the day of shooting or production. The production team may rearrange furniture, redecorate certain areas, and set up equipment with your permission.   You can usually stay in your home during filming and observe the process if conditions allow. After filming, the production team is responsible for returning your property to its original condition.   It's always nice to have famous actors or supermodels in your living room or garden.
